Hospice Outreach Volunteer

Are you passionate about sharing your knowledge of hospice care?

As a Hospice Outreach Volunteer, you will raise awareness about hospice palliative care in our community by attending events and sharing information with community groups.  Training is provided to help you:

• Learn more about hospice palliative care, programs and services
• Develop your public speaking and presentation skills
• Gain marketing and networking techniques

This role and training are provided in partnership with Heart House Hospice and Dorothy Ley Hospice.

Commitment

Training

September 21 – December 3, Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm and Saturdays from 10:30am to noon

OR

October 4 – December 8, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-1:30am

Time commitment varies depending on community and event / presentation requests.

COVID-19 Precautions

Volunteers will be provided with training on safety protocols and the use of PPE. All volunteers and staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, wear a mask and follow all government-mandated protocols when visiting clients.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Clean police records check with vulnerable sector screening
• Two references
